A.Q. Khan confessing to running a nuclear proliferation ring on Pakistani national television, February 4, 2004.
The original copyright is likely owned by the Pakistani government. Not being familiar with their copyright policies, I'm going to claim that the use of this image on Wikipedia counts under the fair use provisions of U.S. copyright law, on the grounds that it is transformative (a screen capture being used in a historical/encyclopedic context), is as low resolution required for its specific use on here, and is a historic, non-reproducible event. Its use should not deprive the copyright holder of any potential revenues. --Fastfission 02:55, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
This screenshot of the program was taken from http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/02/05/1075854008244.html, where it is (oddly) credited to the AFP (the AFP credit is most likely to the photograph of the television program itself, which is most likely a derivative work).
This image is a screenshot of a copyrighted television program or station ID. As such, the copyright for it is most likely owned by the company or corporation that produced it. It is believed that the use of a limited number of web-resolution screenshots
- for identification and critical commentary on the station ID or program and its contents
- on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, might be copyright infringement. For more information, see Wikipedia:Fair use.
To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
