Phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Phosphoribosyl pyrophosphate (PRPP) is a pentosephosphate.

The enzyme adenine phosphoribosyltransferase catalyzes the reaction between adenine and PRPP to form AMP.

The enzyme hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase acts as a catalyst in the reaction between guanine and PRPP to form GMP.

The enzyme hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase also acts as a catalyst in the reaction between hypoxanthine and PRPP to form IMP.
