Khatauli is a small town located at bank of upper ganga canal [1]. It has an average elevation of 225 metres (738 feet).

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Khatauli had a population of 58,497. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Khatauli has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 66%, and female literacy is 53%. In Khatauli, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
