SALAM. i want to ask something about khokher. 1st i want to told you about myself i am ALi from pakistan belongs to khokher family , here on this site i know different things about khokhers, and i am doubtfull about history of khokhers bcoz some says they are RAJPOOTs some says They belongs to ARAB tribe, But here in pakistan mostly peaples do not acept then as RAJPOOT nor ARAB like AWAN's so plz tell me about the real about them, our fourfathers says we belongs to ARAB tribe like as awan and awans are khokhers are same basically. so plz i am waiting for ur answer.

You may consider reading up the pages on the Khokhars from the book "A Glossary of the Tribes and castes of the Punjab and North -West Frontier Province compiled by AH ROSE and based on the Census Report for the Punjab 1883 , by Sir Denzil Ibbetson and the census report for the Punjab 1892 by Sir Edward Maclagan . Published By the Asian Educational Services .

The exact pages for Khokhar History in this book is given in volume II (its a three volume set) pages 539 to pages 549 .

According to this the Khokhars are described as Jats and Rajputs but the article is long and also provides other information .

As one of the contributors to this article I have also provided other sources that I could find from other published books in the main article . You may find it interesting to also read the related articles from the links that you will find to other articles on Wikipedia .

I say this because it seems to me that there seem to be just too many cross refrences to another tribe called the Khokhran from exactly the same region and other historical references as well .

I hope other contributors to this article may also be able to shed light from their knowledge .
