Philbrook

Philbrook is an English derived surname commonly found in New England. The name is commonly seen as Philbrook or Philbrick, yet they both origin from the same familial line.

Thomas Philbrick (Philbrook) immigrated to the USA as part of the "Great Migration" of Puritans in about 1633 and was among one of the founding households of Watertown, Massachusetts. Eventually he, along with his three sons John, James and Thomas Philbrick moved to Hampton, New Hampshire where they settled their families and descendants for most of the next 100 years.

Some famous Philbrook descendants include Robert Frost and Winston Churchill.


Other notable Philbrooks include Steven and Renee Philbrook, a brother-sister duo of NCAA Division 1 Track and Field athletes at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, and Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, respectively.
