Philip Mayne (November 22, 1899 - April 9, 2007) was thought to be the last surviving British officer of the First World War. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Royal Engineers in September 1918.

He was also thought to be the oldest surviving member of Christ's Hospital, the University of Cambridge Engineering Department (having graduated in 1921), the oldest member of King's College, Cambridge and indeed of the whole University of Cambridge. He retired in 1961 having worked at Imperial Chemical Industries, where he rose to the position of technical director.

Mayne ate a banana a day and is quoted as saying: "I have never had too much to drink and have always cycled, swam and gardened". At the age of 90, he was known to cycle 30 miles a day.

He lived in Richmond, North Yorkshire.
