Philip "Phil" de Vellis is an American political consultant formerly with the firm Blue State Digital. He has consulted for several politicians, including Senator Sherrod Brown, an Ohio Democrat elected in November 2006. [1]
At age 33, de Vellis was unmasked as the creator of an advertisement in support of 2008 presidential candidate Barack Obama, based on the 2004 Apple Computer remake of their famous 1984 television commercial. The ad was widely watched on the website YouTube.[2] De Vellis resigned his position with the firm March 21, 2007 after being outed by the Huffington Post. [3][4]
