The Philippine Star is one of the leading daily newspapers in the Philippines. It is published by the late Maximo V. Soliven, a former political detainee of ex-President Ferdinand Marcos' administration during martial law. Its columnists include entertainment editor Ricky Lo, TV talk show host Atty. Dong Puno, business columnist Boo Chanco, Fr. James Reuter, businesswoman Robina Gokongwei-Pe, celebrity Lucy Torres Gomez, and others.
