I finally found a reliable source for the first part of this article! Recently, I found a June 4, 1975 edition of Ginoo Magazine, featuring Gloria Diaz as the cover girl... There's an article there entitled "Which Way Will Pro Basketball in RP Go?" which discusses the formation of the PBA.
