Talk:Philosophical theism

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I wonder how many people come to a conclusion about their beliefs, and only later discover that Philosophical Theism is an actual already known system. I sure didn't expect it to be. I had actually already called my own system philosophical theism because I loved philosophy, and I believed in the existance of a god, and so I just combined theism with philosophy, and voila... seemed clever at the time.

Unlike Deism with famous people being known for it (such as Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson), there are no famous people to spread the idea of philosophical theism by virtue of it being theirs. I don't know who this Martin Gardner is, but he doesn't sound particularly famous except for badgering other religions.

So it would be interesting to see just how many people would consider themselves to be philosophical theists if they knew such a thing already actually existed.
