Phorohacos, also known as Phororhacos, was a flightless, prehistoric bird. It is also called the terror bird. It was 10 feet tall and weighed around 660 lbs. Scientists speculate it could have run as fast as 44 mph. Skeletons of Phorohacos have been found only in South America. The features of its skeleton that indicates that it is a ground dweller are its greatly reduced wings, long legs, and a large head with a powerful beak. This bird was a carnivore and could have eaten carrion.
