This category lists physicians by nationality, based on the American English usage of the term to mean any medical doctor.

Note that in many Commonwealth countries, and in Ireland and Hong Kong, "physician" has a more specialised meaning, and the general term is "doctor". Hence Category:British doctors, not "British physicians".
