[ādihtan] Wucedagas
How did you intend wuces dæg vs. wucedæg? Wucu is feminine, so its genitive is simply wuce. --James
- You're quite right. Thanks. --Saforrest 16:20, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Séo þone tramet ofer "Wódnesdæge" - betra? -- James
Thanks for the weekday additions! --James 14:27, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Hwæt?
Hey, what were the last 2 changes you made? I tried clicking and couldn't tell...redirects? -- James
- Yes, I redirected Sæturnesdæg to Sæternesdæg. Both seem to be used in various places, but I found more instances of the latter online, so that's the one I decided to use. --Saforrest 19:32, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Gemǽnscipe Ingang
Do you know if there's a way to get the community portal to simply be a link to Gemǽnscipe Ingang instead of a redirect? I know the interface isn't in OE just yet, so I was wondering if we should simply use the English links, then redo it later when the interface is switched over, or if doing it now would be easier. --James 14:11 16 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Hrodulf se hrándéor
Is there a way to redo what I did so that the page's history is transferred properly? --James
[ādihtan] Interface Names
I got the FromWikipedia to work, so it should be ok now. I'm slowly moving the interface over, since (a) I'm getting busier with schoolwork, and (b) I want to ease people into the OE words for everything. But, please do continue making suggestions on the Special:AllMessages page as to what the translations should be...I appreciate all the help I can get! --James 21:04, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Categorizing
Þú wrát:-
Hi Anthony. If you wish to add something to a category, such as Category:Human societies, you can do so by adding the tag [ [ Category:Human societies ] ] at the bottom of the text of the article you wish to add, rather than modifying the category page. In any case, it would be good to use an OE equivalent, rather than 'Human societies'.
Sorry.
If I add a tag line Category:qwertyuiop, where qwertyuiop is a category name which there is not a category file for yet, will Wikipedia automatically create a new category file for it?
Or, how do I create a new category file?
How can I find a list of all the category files, so I am not duplicating? Anthony Appleyard 06:39, 27 Oct 2004
Hi. I want to invite you to participate in a new project, Translation of the week. Danny 19:15, 30 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[ādihtan] George Bush
Hey - the page is unprotected for you to edit. I would tend to prefer to keep current political figures (Bush, Kerry, Blair, etc.) protected so that their opponents don't mess around with their pages. But have at it with your contributions. --James 17:57, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[ādihtan] Translation of the week
Currently we have started a project on meta.wikipedia to get an article translated in as many wikipedias as possible every week. The article will be about a subject that usually gets rarely translated and has a lot of links to other subjects. Currently we have no-one to translate in your language. If someone is interested to participate please see: meta:Translation of the week You can also submit articles from your own languages there that you think deserve translation, but have a small chance of it. The articles must not be to short and not to long and have lots of links to possible other articles! en:user:Waerth
[ādihtan] Thanks!
Thanks for covering me and completing the landbox template... I suddenly got rather ill and wasn't able to create or edit much of anything... :-( Harðor Holtakarl Vilhjálmusson 16:12, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Earsgangǽrendan
I blocked the two spamming addresses for 24 hours each. Spamming is not to be tolerated on this or any wiki. --James 21:34, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Wikiquote/Wiktionary
These two Anglo-Saxon Wikis were just started if you'd like to contribute there also. --James 01:11, 11 ÆGé 2005 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Thanks
Thanks for the welcome, as well as fixing my error in the Ontario page. As I'm quite new to Old English, I'm liable to make other mistakes. I hope (and expect) that I'll get better with practice. :)

[ādihtan] More Thanks
I just wanted to say I especially admire your (and James') compendious editing here. I am impressed with this project you all have going here. --Walda 02:56, 15 Mǽdmónaþ 2005 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Accents/Macrons
I only created the macron version to showcase the differences in how the characters are displayed. I did the same for Gúþ betwéonan þǽm Rícum to show how they look in the page and the title (they look funny in the title). I have not started switching anything over, and will not until we have a vote on it. Seems the fair thing to do for everyone here. --James 06:23, 31 Wéodmónaþ 2005 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Ōðeru vs. Ōðru
I checked Bosworth and Toller, and Ōðeru appears (1 time) and Ōðru appears 16 times.--James 22:16, 9 Háligmónaþ 2005 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Singular/Plural category names
Sorry about the - should be singular like our other ones. I got in a bit of an editing rush, and overlooked that. Check out the Allium-related stuff too. --James 03:03, 21 Hāligmōnaþ 2005 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Direction of the Wiki
On a different note, are there any specific areas you think we should concentrate on, perhaps some monthly themes/collaborations to improve the wiki, say, to Englisc the wiki's shortest modern English containing articles, adding language articles, country articles, plant articles, etc.? Perhaps have a weekly collaboration within that? --James 03:03, 21 Hāligmōnaþ 2005 (UTC)
- I suggest doing what the Latin wikipedia did in it's early days, concentrating on articles relevant to the area/period. Don't bother with difficult articles like en:Helicopter, but stick to creating things like þagn and fixing Ēadweard se Ieldra. Nickshanks 08:19, 4 Winterfylleþ 2005 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Macron/Acute in IE
Hey, can you see the ǣ/ȳ in IE on your computer on the Main page? Ado just made a change that worked on my computer to the font style, and I was wondering if it worked for you as well. --James 07:21, 23 Hāligmōnaþ 2005 (UTC)
Please vote in the Macron/Accute poll (Anthony's idea to hold another...send me an e-mail) --James 07:47, 24 Hāligmōnaþ 2005 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Macrons representing ommitted nasalations
Now that there has been a decision to use macrons across the wiki, how should one represent, when quoting an original passage, omitted nasalations? For example when bocū is written for bocum? Nickshanks 08:22, 4 Winterfylleþ 2005 (UTC)
[ādihtan] Ang.wikisource
I noticed that the ang.wikisource was created today. I did not even realize that there had been a request for one. I invite you and anyone else interested to continue adding anglo-saxon texts to en.wikisource instead. I feel there is little advantage to keep a seperate wikisource for anglo-saxon. The editors there will simply have less time to work on actual texts as they must duplicate all the administrative work already being done at en.wikisource. Just getting the most basic policies and templates together takes a great deal of time. Since texts at wikisource are pretty much static it very condusive to having all Anglo-Saxon, Middle English, Scots, Archaic, and Modern English texts together. It will be more efficient to simply use the infastructure that has already been developed. In any event I plan to continue adding to the anglo-saxon collection at en.wikisource in order to create a variety of comparative texts. Duplicating this work does not seem to me the best direction to take. en:User:BirgitteSB
[ādihtan] Request
Hello. I have got one request for you. I need sentence "sugar in 370 languages" in Anglo-Saxon (I want to do a logo of my site). So, can you write me what`s called sentence "sugar in 370 languages" in Anglo-Saxon language? Thank you very much! Szoltys TALK
[ādihtan] Portal
Hey! I've been out of town at OCS, but I just got back, and I checked it out - the equivalent Níwe Englisc page is just the words "community portal," which is odd...hmm...perhaps we should make it our portal center? --James 01:45, 8 Wēodmōnaþ 2006 (UTC)
