Is it গুজরাত or গুজরাট? All the other Indian languages (incl. Hindi and Punjabi) use the word গুজরাত, because I found more results for গুজরাট than গুজরাত on Google. Also, গুজরাতী ভাষা is just a redirect to গুজরাটি ভাষা. In India's national anthem জন গণ মন অধিনায়ক, the spelling গুজরাট is used. I believe the state is গুজরাট and the language is গুজরাটি/গুজরাটী in Bengali (following the spellings in the বাংলা একাডেমী সংক্ষিপ্ত বাংলা অভিধান and A.T. Dev's Students' Favourite Dictionary Bengali to English). This মূর্ধন্য-দন্ত্য mismatch between Eastern Indic and other related languages is not uncommon - consider the word for lentils - ডাল (Bengali) vs. দাল (Hindi). --সামীরুদ্দৌলা ০৫:৫৬, ১৫ নভেম্বর ২০০৬ (UTC)
- According to many Bengali dictionaries, the spelling গুজরাত has been changed to গুজরাট. I have also changed the spelling in the ভারতের রাজ্য ও কেন্দ্রশাসিত অঞ্চল template. Docwho (চিনাৎসু) ১৫:৪৫, ১৬ নভেম্বর ২০০৬ (UTC)
