আমার শব্দকোষে (বাংলা একাডেমী ইংরেজি -> বাংলা) দেখেছি "Danish"-এর অনুবাদ "দিনেমার", "ডেনীয়" নয়। কোনটা বেশী প্রচলিত/শুদ্ধ/ঠিক/appropriate? --সামীরুদ্দৌলা ০৬:৫২, ৬ নভেম্বর ২০০৬ (UTC)

Danish [ডেইনিশ] n.adj. ডেনমার্ক বা দিনেমার সম্পর্কিত; ডেনীয়; ডেনীয় ভাষা।
- BTW, ডেনিশ, ড্যানিশ এগুলো পত্রপত্রিকার খেলাধুলার পাতা ছাড়া আর কোথাও ব্যবহার হয় বলে মনে হয় না। যেকোন মানসম্মত বই প্রমিত পরিভাষা/আভিধানিক পরিভাষা ব্যবহার করে, আর সেই পরিভাষাটা হল ডেনীয়। --অর্ণব (আলাপ | অবদান) ০৮:৫২, ৬ নভেম্বর ২০০৬ (UTC)
Ah you're right. I wasn't reading my dictionary carefully. In fact, the dictionary lists দিনেমার as both the country (Denmark) and the citizen (Dane) but NOT the nationality (Danish ডেনীয়) or the language (Danish ডেনীয়). This is unlike the word ওলন্দাজ, which apparently can be the citizen (Dutchman/Hollander/Netherlander), the nationality (Dutch), and the language (Dutch), but not the country (the Netherlands/Holland নেদারল্যান্ড/হল্যান্ড). And these are all different from ইংরেজ, which can be the citizen (Englishman) and the nationality (English), but NOT the language (English ইংরেজি), or the country (England ইংল্যান্ড). So confusing... okay well I'll add this info to ডেনমার্ক but not ডেনীয় ভাষা. Should the first mention of the country's name be ডেনমার্ক or দিনেমার? --সামীরুদ্দৌলা ০৯:৫০, ৬ নভেম্বর ২০০৬ (UTC)
