Karplanter (Tracheobionta) er en stor gruppe af planter. Denne gruppe bliver ikke brugt ofte taksonomisk, da den er i konflikt med det nuværende system.

Ifølge en nyere klassificering baseret på Tree of Life: Land Plants er Ginkgo-familien placeret under frøplanter.
