[Bearbeiten] "Jenische" Herkunft der Marx Brothers
I don't understand why the Marx Brothers are presented as being of Jenisch ethnicity, when at the same time they are said to be Jewish.
As far as I could read, the Jenisch nation has nothing to do with Jews (except numerous loanwords from Yiddish), and all Jenisch are virtually Catholic.
- Yeniche nation or ethnicity are somewhat dubious terms not easily defined with precision (I would rather speak of Yeniche people), and it is rather a claim than a fact that virtually all Yeniche people are Catholic. Also being of Catholic confession does not necessarily exclude Jewish descendance. But you are right that apart from this article and the article Jenische there seems to be no source crediting the Marx Brothers with Yeniche descendance. I have therefore removed the passage in question.--Otfried Lieberknecht 00:13, 28. Nov. 2006 (CET)
