The Basement Tapes ist der Titel eines Album von Bob Dylan und The Band.
Es ist eine Compilation von Sessions, die zwischen Juni und Oktober 1967 in einem "Big Pink" genannten Haus in New York stattfanden. Nachdem viele der Lieder jahrelang als Bootleg kursierten, wurde The Basement Tapes 1975 auf Columbia Records veröffentlicht. Bob Dylan singt Leadvocals auf 16 der 24 Lieder, bei den übrigen acht Liedern singen die Mitglieder von The Band.
