This was so amusing I transfered it to the talk page. If you can provide a published reference, we should restore it: "The natives of Ås, called “Ås-bønder”, are mostly farmers, and are famous for their strength and stamina. Every weekend they gather at “Smia” and “Bugge'n” (driving there in their John Deere and Lamborghini tractors), drinking their famous home-brew based on potatoes and corn, battling to be the one getting most drunk in least time. These drinking competitions climax every year at “Ås-mart’n”, where everyone meets in a large tent near the town hall for a huge drinking contest, and the winner of this event is celebrated widely. The greatest competitor of all times, Kåre “Kompost” Østgård, actually committed suicide after winning the competition five years in a row, thus leaving himself undefeated.
Ås is sometimes compared to Drøbak and Ski, the neighbor municipals of Ås, but that is a great mistake, because Ås is much better than those two towns. The inhabitants of Drøbak and Ski are dense and stupid and in no comparison with people from Ås, who are beautiful, intelligent and thoughtful."
