Comparison of secularism and spiritualism
Spiritualism is ultimately the sanatana-dharma (BG 1.39, BhP 4.2.31-32, 7.11.2, 7.11.5, 8.14.4, 10.4.39, 10.84.18, 11.17.8, 12.12.1)
Identity
Secularism - material (body)
Spiritualism - nonmaterial (soul)
Existence
temporary (birth - death)
eternal
Evidence
empiric (one's own opinion)
opinion of God (scripture)
Authority
an individual, manmade laws
superior (God), His laws
Values criteria

inside
Solution
change of the world (revolutions, terrorism)
change of oneself (spiritual practice)
Summary: meaning of life
material advancement & sense gratification
liberation & spiritual love of God
Secularism: Degradation agenda
1. Antireligious and antiauthoritative
Systematic undermining the traditional authority of religion, elders, law, etc. in media, etc.
Creating generation conflict. Pointing at the inadequacy, historical issues and corruption of major religions, hinting that many problems would be solved by abolishing them.
Pitting them against each other ('divide and rule').
Creating sects ('united we stand, divided we fall').
Trying to establish a demoniac unified religion ruled by 'Maitreya' (promoted by Benjamin Creme).

2. Promoting resultant moral relativism
Combined with technological growth it makes for a deadly mix (esp. in 3).
Influences human relationships by promotion of self- and individual gratification-centered attitude. (supports 4.)
Creates 'might makes right' situation open to corruption and exploitation of non-privileged (weak, poor, etc.)
Loss of freedom through increasing state control of our lives.
Increasing number of wars for political and economical reasons, not for dharma.
3. Environment
Misinterpretation of the Biblical verse, Gen 1:28 ('subdue the earth', i.e. stewardship), as the main factor influencing abusive relationship toward nature (environmental issues) and other living beings (exploitation). Used as a political and economical control tool.
Growth of new and older but drug-resistant diseases.
4. Economy
Artificial economical growth through manipulation by media promoting 'if it feels good it's good' attitude esp. among youngsters. Yet senses are never gratified enough and so it ultimately leads to unrestrained sexuality, drug abuse, boredom and suicides.
Expanding difference between rich and poor, North and South. Few percent of people and cartels controlling the world economy (monopolism).
5. Evolution theory (Darwin)
A material scientific support of the above points. When applied to social and political sphere (social darwinism) it encourages a suppression of 'lower' races, nations, castes, diseased, handicapped, etc. It is behind 'overpopulation' issues and depopulation strategies like eugenics, abortion, euthanasia, drugs, diseases, forced planned parenthood.
History
Every God-revealed monotheistic tradition, after some degradation, sooner or later 'encourages' its monistic (des)interpretation (aimed at doing away with supposed ills by abolishing the source, personal God). E.g. Gnosticism to a devotional Christianity (like Catholicism) is like Advaita to devotional Vedic traditions (like Vaishnavism).
Gnosticism could be derived from or related to Buddhism which was spreading around beginning of the common era in Near East. The Eastern influence is very prominent: Although Gnosticism supported ahimsa, vegetarianism, reincarnation, etc. (which makes it attractive to devotees in ISKCON), at the same time it was monistic, opposing monotheism. An extensive Western anti-monotheistic (mainly anti-Christian, later anti-Catholic) agenda continued with groups like Rosicrucians, Theosophists, various pseudochristian, esoteric and occult groups up to recent exponents of New Age like E. Cayce, L. Rampa or Dan Brown ("Da Vinci Code" etc.).
The schism of Christianity was a part of this influence, leading to an appearance of nondevotional Protestantism, a theological and practical dilution, an apasampradya.
The Roman Catholic Church, as the strongest Catholic force, was constantly battling whichever form the Gnosticism took (Cathars, templars, freemasons, etc.) but couldn't eradicate it and in the process also destroyed countless innocent lives (e.g. 'witches'). This was an ammunition for the opponents.
There is a common 4-step pattern:
1. theism > 2. its degradation > 3. monism > 4. atheism
examples:
Hinduism > Buddhism
devotional Buddhism > atheistic Buddhism
Catholicism > Protestantism > liberalism
Orthodox Judaism > liberal Judaism
Main methods of propagation
- lies and half-truths, disinformation (like history distortion), deception
- entice by sense gratification, comfort and safety
- divide and rule
- create a problem and offer (sell) a solution
- controlled opponents, controlled conflict (clandestinely controlling all antagonistic parties involved) - upholding West-centrism as a 'default paradigm'
Active undermining of dharma - social rules, family values, etc. by promoting minority rights (gay, gender, color, religious) at the cost of majority ('multiculturalism') thru monopoly in mainstream, education, media, etc. Dissenters holding different views are ridiculed, censored and blocked from publication by peer reeview control ('knowledge filter') and open or hidden threats (losing job, etc.) apparently masked by other issues. A recent case:
Other cases:
Virginia Steen-McIntyre & Hueyatlaco site
Ways of countering it
More active promotion of:
- faults and showing faulty methods of secularism, as well as its destructive results
- connections and core bhakti unity of spiritual traditions, One Supreme God of all
- dharma
(includes vegetarianism) - bhakti (mainly sankirtana, prasada)
