Please do not blank article talk pages which disagree with your views, such as Talk:Beastie Boys. That is considered vandalism, and could get you blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Fuzzie (talk) 23:23, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
The let me delete my own comments. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.221.83.4 (talk • contribs) .
- Your comments are an integral part of the discussion on the page, the subject of which is currently important to edits on the article, and as such removing them is considered disruptive. Why do you want them deleted? --Fuzzie (talk) 23:42, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. Boah guys. Talk less and act more. Then ban this IP and I'll use the next one. What's the point? This is a wiki and I edit it. Stop writing a lot of sentences for nothing than wasting my time.
- The point is that this is a community dedicated to writing an encyclopedia, and has certain rules, including working towards consensus and civility. If you choose to work with other editors instead of edit warring the outcome will be more pleasant for all concerned. Including you. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 23:47, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
Including me? You seem to forget that Beastiemania calls me a liar and a cheat. I will at no point accept Wikipedia linking to it. As long as you bring this link in I will drop it out. You cannot ban me as person, just a technical IP address or a small network range (maybe a full class C network). But you cannot banish class A or B networks which I can use to delete the link again and again.
- That may be technically correct. However, the point is not about the content of the site, but about the consensus of editors, and Wikipedia's three-revert rule, which you have violated after being warned about it. This IP has now been blocked. It is true that it is possible to come back using another IP, but this is highly discouraged.
- Even if you do not choose to follow Wikipedia's guidelines, there is a practical consideration. No matter how many times you come back and change the offending link, other users will reinstate it, unless you can use reason to convince them that it is not an appropriate link under Wikipedia's external link guidelines. The problem with edit warring is not just that it's annoying for all concerned, but that it never works. Please consider this before continuing. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 00:09, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
We run a Wiki on our own, so we are well aware about the pro's and contras. People from Beastiemania came to our sites, edited the pages to "this sucks" and so what we are doing here is just protecting ourself. I'll then code a script that will parse your site and erase the unwanted link every 10 mins from a different IP. No need for me to come back again and again.
