A Long Long Way

A Long Long Way is a novel by Irish author Sebastian Barry set during the First World War. The protagonist Willie Dunne leaves Dublin to fight for the Allies as a member of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He is caught between the war playing out on foreign fields and that festering at home, waiting to erupt with the Easter Rising.
First published by Faber and Faber in September 2005, the novel was short listed for the prestigious Booker Prize.
