A Million Ways
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Million Ways is a pop-rock song from the album Oh No by U.S. band OK Go. It was the third song from the album to be released as a single.
[edit] Music Video
The homemade music video for the song shows the band in their backyard, performing a choreographed dance routine. The routine was created by singer Damian Kulash's sister, Trish Sie. The resulting video was sent via e-mail around the world, earning it the title of 'Top Viral'[citation needed].
As in their later video for "Here It Goes Again," the song's vocals are actually performed by Kulash, but are lip-synced here by bassist Tim Nordwind.
At the beginning of the video, the tail end of "It's A Disaster" is heard coming from the radio, which also precedes "A Million Ways" on the actual album.
A deluxe limited edition version of the Oh No CD was released in 2006 and is packaged with a DVD which includes the complete video. Also included is a separate video comprised of clips from several homemade re-enactments of the original which had been submitted for a YouTube contest.
[edit] Trivia
- The band went to play at a gig to find it had been canceled, and so regaled the angry ticket holders with a performance of the routine.
- This video got the band on British TV show Soccer AM where they performed the dance live.
- The band did not intend to have the video as the song's actual music video, just as a dance routine during live shows. However, the video was sent to several friends, causing it to leak
