ABC Television is a service of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation which began in 1956. The Corporation broadcasts two main channels in Australia, with one international network based in the Asia-Pacific region.

[edit] Free-to-air channels
- The Corporation's primary channel, broadcasting mainstream comedy, drama, documentaries, films, sport, and children's programmes. ABC TV is also the home of the ABC's main 30-minutes news bulletins, currently shown at 12.00 and 19.00 everyday.
- The second channel operated by the Corporation available to digital television viewers, broadcasting time-shifted repeats from ABC TV and new content, notably children's programs, magazine shows, and local sport.

ABC Television's network system consists of 7 state-based networks which are comprised of a main metropolitan station and several repeaters. All state networks broadcast a state-based ABC TV, and a national ABC2.
The analogue metropolitan transmitters are:
- ABC ACT - ABC-9 (Canberra, Australian Capital Territory)
- ABC Northern - ABD-6 (Darwin, Northern Territory)
- ABC NSW - ABN-2 (Sydney, New South Wales)
- ABC Queensland - ABQ-2 (Brisbane, Queensland)
- ABC Southern - ABS-2 (Adelaide, South Australia)
- ABC Tasmania - ABT-2 (Hobart, Tasmania)
- ABC Victoria - ABV-2 (Melbourne, Victoria)
- ABC Western - ABW-2 (Perth, Western Australia)
The digital metropolitan transmitters are mostly broadcasted using VHF-12. Regional ABC Television transmitters vary in frequencys.

- An Australian free-to-air international satellite television service operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Aimed at the Asia-Pacific and now India regions, the service broadcasts a mixture of programming, with a focus on English learning programs.

- The Corporation's first digital multichannel available to digital television viewers, broadcasting children's programs. The channel has since closed.
- A youth-orientated channel available to digital television viewers, broadcasting music, new content, and youth-orientated programs. The channel has since closed.
