Brief History
Advent was founded in 1983 by Stephanie DiMarco, who leads the company today as CEO.
Advent’s first portfolio accounting product, Axys®, was built specifically for the PC, and later was the first portfolio accounting and reporting solution built on the Microsoft Windows platform. Over the years, Advent has introduced a variety of products to help streamline the investment management business, including Moxy®, the industry’s first trade order management system, which has 750+ clients, as well as products for client relationship management and partnership accounting.
In 1995 Advent introduced Geneva®, its first solution for the global investment accounting industry, providing a solution for the complex needs of investment managers worldwide. Geneva® helps firms account for a broad range of complex instruments, including high volume, traditional, derivative, domestic and global investment strategies. Today, Geneva® has over 100 clients.
In 2005, Advent introduced its next-generation portfolio management platform, Advent Portfolio Exchange® (APX), which fully integrates the front office functions of client relationship management (CRM) with the back office operations of portfolio accounting and reporting. This enterprise solution leverages a single SQL database to deliver critical client information via an easy-to-use browser-based user interface. APX delivers improved client service with enhanced security for today’s amplified compliance environment.
In 2007, the company launched a new product for billing and revenue management, Advent Revenue Center™, and plans to introduce a new solution for pre- and post-trade compliance later this year.
In both 2005 and 2007, Advent was included on the “100 Best Corporate Citizens” list by Business Ethics Magazine (now CRO). The company was recognized for its commitment to higher standards, specifically in the areas of community, governance, diversity and employees.
For two consecutive years, Advent’s Investment Management Group (IMG) Client Support organization has achieved certification in the prestigious Support Center Practices (SCP) certification program. SCP certification quantifies the effectiveness of customer support, based on a stringent set of performance standards, and represents best practices in the industry.
