Aero-Tropics Air Services is an airline based in Queensland in Australia and providing scheduled and charter services in the Cairns, Horn Island and Torres Strait areas. It has been operating charters since 1997 and scheduled services since 2000. It has grown from one Partenavia aircraft used for charter work to a fleet of 15 aircraft.
[edit] Incidents and accidents
On 7 May 2005 an Aero-Tropics Air Services Fairchild Metro III (flight 675 from Bamaga) was carrying out an approach to Lockhart River aerodrome in Queensland, when it hit the 1,300ft Pap Ridge 90ft below its highest point in low cloud and squally rain. The three crew and 14 passengers died in the accident. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau initial factual report states the aircraft's power settings at impact appeared normal for an approach, but that the aircraft was about 1,000ft below the minimum obstacle clearance height for that position (ref: Flight International, July 2005).

The fleet currently consists of (at February 2005):
- 6 Britten-Norman Islander
