Talk:AFC Champions League
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
has the AFC Champions league increasing to 32 teams for 2006 been confirmed because I watched Total Football on FoxSports in Australia last night (10 Nov 2005), and they have said it will be very unlikly that a A-league team will be included for the champions league for 2006 because the a-league champions are not decided untill march 2006 and the draw made up for the AFC Champions league is done in december , they said it was still possible but very unlikly that the A-league teams will not be added untill 2007

[edit] Champions Table
Perhaps the table with the champions/finals etc. could be broken up into two tables to more clearly identify the pre-champions league finals and those after the competition changed? -Mike 'TinTin'
- Also, could it specify who won what? is the table the Asian Super cup?The Cup Winners Cup? Burning phoneix 19:08, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] One-year lag
I read from the A-League_06-07 article that the Australia representatives for each year will be the previous year's premiers and champions, not the current year, giving a one-year lag. Is this the same for other teams wrt their respective leagues or is Australia unusual in this? Pimlottc 04:08, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Around the world it's not that uncommon. Some of the Nordic countries enter UEFA competions based on the previous season results. In Japan the winners of the Emperor's Cup also go into the next seaons champions league (in the same way the Australian teams do)Tancred 10:41, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
