Agha Bozorg Mosque

Masjed-i Agha Bozorg is a famous historical mosque in Kashan, Iran.
Built in the late 1700s by master-mimar Ustad Haj Sa'ban-ali, the mosque and theological school is located in the center of Kashan.
Agha Bozorgh Mosque, considered as one of the most beautiful Islamic monuments of Iran, was constructed for prayers, preaching and teaching sessions held by Molla Mahdi Naraghi II known as Agha Bozorgh.
The mosque consists of two large iwans, one in front of the mihrab and the other by the entrance. The courtyard has a second court in the middle which comprised of a garden with trees and a fountain. Surrounding the courtyard are arcade. The iwan in front of mehrab has two minarets with a brick dome. The colors of arcades and eivan are restricted to blue, red, or yellow against a brick ground. It was here where Ustad Ali Maryam as a pupil started his career as a brilliant architect.
