Agunnaryd

Agunnaryd is a small and quiet village community located 20 km to the east of Ljungby. The lake Agunnarydsjön is close by (app. 300 meters from the village church). Here you can enjoy both fishing and swimming. The lake is part of the Helge Å river system, which extends further on into the lake Möckeln, south of Agunnaryd. In the vicinity of Agunnaryd, there are plenty of opportunities to experience the Swedish nature. There are for example 12 000 acres of forest, ideal for hiking.
The bicycle route ”Sverigeleden” passes right through the village. Canoeing on Helge Å is a popular activity among tourists. In Agunnaryd there are “lay-bys” by the stream to be used by those canoeing.
Agunnaryd is a small village and parish in Ljungby Municipality, Småland, southern Sweden, connected with the industrialist Ingvar Kamprad who founded IKEA (the A of which stands for Agunnaryd). It has about 700 inhabitants, one school, kindergarder, a small cooperative supermarket named 'Mat öppet', and four football teams.(The football teams suck!) The little village has its own newspapper/newsletter that hey send to pepole 1 time every month. The newsletter's name is KOLBULLETINEN.
