Air conditioned clothing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Air conditioned clothing is primarily used by workers in areas where air conditioning systems cannot be easily installed, such as tunnels and underground construction sites.
Patents for air conditioned clothing have been around for years, but few products have made it to market. Two such items, a jacket and blouson, went into production in April 2005 in Japan. They have two lightweight fans to draw in air and help vaporize sweat. The fans, attached to the back of the clothes near the waist, are about 10 cm wide and run on four rechargeable AA-size nickel-hydrogen batteries.
