Alan Henson

Alan Henson played first class rugby union for Maesteg RFC as a loose head prop forward. He was club captain from 1990 to 1992, when they were promoted to division one. He also played for Glamorgan county and was captain for Heol-y-Cyw RFC. After he retired from playing, he coached the Maesteg front row.
He is the father of Wales rugby international Gavin Henson. His father-in-law, Trevor Watkins, played for the 1949 invincible Maesteg team.
