Alden Biesen Castle

Alden Biesen is an old castle in Belgium in a small village called Rijkhoven. They use the castle for festivals like Scottish weekend or the International Story Festival and the European classes. There is also a church in that castle to go to each Sunday.

The knights of the Teutonic Order built the Landcommandery Alden Biesen. It was the headquarters of a bailiwick or province of the Teutonic Order in the land of Maas and Rhine. In 1971 the building burns down and is acquired by the governement and restored.
