America's Dumbest Criminals
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
America's Dumbest Criminals is a television series featuring news reports and reconstructions of particularly foolish criminal behavior, which makes the police's job of arresting them very easy.
Well, not always. While some captures were pathetically easy, many others were much tougher and sometimes required greater resources. Many criminals put together their game plan beautifully but were tripped up by a simple oversight (such as forgetting to fill the tank of the getaway car). Others actually got away clean, but without the goods. And still others were captured because they were not fooled by the arresting officers.
Also included were "Dumb Laws," featuring various trivialities passed into law.
It is directed by Steve Angus and hosted by Debbie Alan and Daniel Butler, the latter having had a hand in its creation as a lesson for his sons about such offenders. The current executive producer of the program in its syndicated form is Jacksonvile, Florida businessman John Palumbo [1].
There was a short-lived Australian version of this show in 1997 called the "World's Dumbest Criminals". It was hosted by Gordon Elliott.
