The American Public Health Association (APHA) is Washington, D.C.-based professional organization for public health professionals in the United States. Founded in 1872, APHA has more than 30,000 members worldwide. APHA engages the public in public health through evidence based information, collective action and award winning publications. APHA provides a collective voice for the public health workforce and strives to eliminate health disparities and ensure access to health care. APHA aims to improve the health of all Americans and protect communities from preventable serious health threats.
