Andorra began their search for a representative with Eurocàsting 2004, which eventually narrowed down 32 competitors into only 3. Marian Van De Wal, Mar Capdevila, and Ishtar Ruiz each performed two song in the final. After a tie between Marian van de Wal and Mar Capdevila, the youngest jury member selected Marian Van De Wal to represent Andorra at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. On January 22, Marian Van De Wal performed three candidate songs in a sho hosted by Meri Picart & Josep Lluís Trabal. A combination of SMS Voting and a professional jury selected "La Mirada Interior".
Marian Van De Wal is originally from the Netherlands, but for the last six years, she has lived in Aldosa in the Principality of Andorra, where she runs a small hotel (Residència l'Aldosa). As well as Dutch, she speaks Catalan, English, Spanish and German. Marian has entered festivals in the Netherlands and performs in different Andorran venues.
At Eurovision, Marian and her team (which included Anabel Conde who represented Spain in 1995 and came in 2nd) wore green dresses, while the shirtless male dancers wore black pants and held black feathers.
