Andrónico Luksic

Antonio Andrónico Luksic Abaroa (November 5, 1926 – August 18, 2005) was a Chilean businessman and founder of the Luksic Group. Before his death, he was the richest person in Chile (fourth in Latin America, 132nd in the world), with a fortune of 4,200 million dollars, according to Forbes magazine.
Luksic was born in Antofagasta, to a Bolivian mother, Elena Abaroa, and a Croatian immigrant father, Policarpo, who had arrived in Chile from the Adriatic island of Brac in 1910 and made a living in the nitrate industry.
Luksic's sons, also businessmen, are Andrónico, Guillermo and Jean Paul Luksic Craig.
Luksic's company, the Luksic Group has interests in mining, financial, industrial and the beverages sectors. Major holdings include, or have included, Banco de Chile, Compañia de Cervecerias Unidas (CCU) and Antofagasta plc, a UK-listed copper mining company.
