Andrew Mickens

Andrew Mickens (born May 14, 1987) is a political consultant and potential Democratic candidate for the City Council of Evansville, Indiana.
Andrew was born on May 14, 1987 to Larry, a wood artisan, and Carla Mickens, a caretaker, in Tampa, Florida. His education consisted of his parents home-schooling him throughout his academic years. He graduated with full honors and 1st in his class on May 13, 2005. That September he enrolled in Ivy Tech Community College where he is currently working to toward graduating with an Associate's Degree in Paralegal Studies.
Andrew has always been interested in politics since he was a little kid. A self-proclaimed liberal, Andrew announced February 12, 2007 on Facebook that he was seriously considering a run for either city council or county council. One of the things that spurred Andrew on to consider running for office so soon was his work on various political campaigns during the mid-term elections of 2006. During this time Andrew helped Andrew L. Smith in his bid to become State Representative of Indiana's 77th District. He also lent his help to Congressman Brad Ellsworth's campaign and Troy Tornatta's campaign for county commissioner.
Andrew's successes do not end there. In his short life he has been the President & CEO of Gospel Assembly Clubhouse, a non-profit Christian organization and more recently he accepted the position of President & CEO of Cougar International. He also serves on the Committee to Elect Stephanie F. Terry 2nd Ward City Council.
