Anysis
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Anysis is a king of Egypt, mentioned only in book II of The History by Herodotus, he was blind and was deposed by Ethiopians led by Sabacos. After fifty years of hiding on the island Elbo, he came back into power.
He may be identified with Akhenaten, a pharaoh who may have gone blind from his habit of staring at the sun, and who was probably deposed because of his heretical beliefs.
