Arch Build System
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Arch Build System (ABS for short) is a package management system provided with Arch Linux used to
- Make new packages of software for which no packages are yet available
- Customize existing packages by enabling or disabling options
- Rebuild an entire system using compiler flags in a manner similar to the mechanism used in Gentoo Linux.
ABS is not necessary to use Arch Linux, but it is useful.
