Ariyalur is a panchayat town in Ariyalur district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.[1]

Ariyalur is one of the district in TamilNadu state. This district has 51% of males and 49% of females. It is rich in limestone resources. Big industrial houses like Birlas (Grasim Industries), India cements, Dalmia cements, Madras cements have their cement units here.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Ariyalur had a population of 27,827. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Ariyalur has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 55% of the males and 45% of females literate. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.It is one of the big districts in Tamil Nadu.
It also has a famous shop by the name of S.R. Maligai. Most locals know and swear by the shop's services.
