Arizona Rangers (baseball)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Arizona Rangers are a minor league baseball team in Surprise, Arizona, USA. They are a rookie league team in the Arizona League and have been a farm team of the Texas Rangers since 2005. The Rangers play home games at Surprise Stadium, which is also the spring training home of the parent club.
The ballclub's name comes most directly from its Major League parent club, which in turn is named for the Texas Rangers, a state law enforcement agency. There were also Arizona Rangers, an agency modeled after the Texas Rangers, which operated in Arizona Territory from 1901 to 1909.
