[edit] Divisions
Like other touring car championships with low grid numbers (such as the German ADAC Procar Series and BTCC in 2001-2003) adds other, low-cost classes to boost the grid. There are three divisions, 1, 2 and 3.
[edit] Division 1
Division 1 consists of cars built to Super 2000 or BTC regulations. Malaysian Proton is the only works team, and their main opposition the independent German BMW team of Engstler Motorsport. The Proton outfit Team Petronas previously raced in BTCC as Team PSP.
[edit] Division 2
Division 2 uses Super Production regulations for cars of 2000cc and below. Engstler Motorsport have one entry here and is the main competition to the four-car Hong Kong team DTM Bel’Air Racing.
[edit] Division 3
Division 3 is the 1600cc class and the least advanced one. Only DTM Bel’Air Racing fielded entries for the 2006 season.
