Assembleia Municipal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An Assembleia Municipal (pron. IPA: [ɐsẽ'blɐiɐ munisi'paɫ]; "municipal assembly") governs a municipality in Portugal. Half of the assembly's members are elected every four years, and half are the presidents of parish boards (juntas de freguesia) that compose the municipality. A municipal assembly meets five times a year, and its members are paid a fee for each meeting.
