The Atlantic Plain is a United States physiographic region. This major division includes the Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plains and the Mississippi Valley Plain.

[edit] The Coastal Plains
This province includes the Atlantic Coastal Plain and the Gulf Coastal Plain. The "rocks" consist for the most part of layers of sand and clay which are not yet hardened into sandstone and shale. The surface is generally flat.
