Auburn offers Advanced Placement classes in Computer Science, Biology, Calculus, English, U.S. History, European History, and Government [2]. Six foriegn lanugages are taught. Five of the six- French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish- go up to the 7/8 (4th year) level, three years of latin are available and two years of American Sign Language.

Auburn moved to the newly-formed 3A South Puget Sound League in 2006. Recent success at the State Championships by the sports teams inlcude:
- 1st in '01, 2nd in 2006, 3rd in '03, 4th in '07, 6th in '02 and '04 for Wrestling *2nd in '02 and 7th in '01 for Boys Track and Field
- State Tournament appearance in '05, and 3rd in '06 in Football (School Record of Most Wins in Season with a record of 12-1)
- 2nd in '06, 4th in '01 for Baseball
- 4th in '01 and '04 for Gymnastics
- State tournament appearance in '07 Basketball
- Quarter final appearance in '05 and '06 in Boys Soccer

TAYLOR TROPHY—a football trophy given to the winner of the yearly football rivalry between Auburn Senior High School and Kent-Meridian High School dating back to 1908. Dr. Owen Taylor created the trophy presentation in 1929. The Rivalry is the Second oldest West of the Mississippi River. The trophy has been won by Auburn High School lately and is currently on display at the School.
