Australia's Next Top Model, Cycle 1 started airing since January 11, 2005 with utmost 10 ladies to compete for the title. There is no certain international destination for the first cycle, except for the seaon finale comes from Melbourne, Australia.
The 13 finalists from around the country converge in Sydney where they will spend the next eight weeks sharing an inner city apartment while competing for the title of Australia's Next Top Model.
Gemma Sanderson was the winner of the first season. The prize for winning the first series of Australia's Next Top Model was a contract with Chic Model Management, an all expenses paid trip to Milan to meet with Italian modeling agency, Fashion, an eight page editorial in Cleo magazine and she fronted a national campaign for Napoleon cosmetics for a year.

[edit] The Girl Who Makes A Poor Mark

The season premiere starts of with the auditions. An uproar and excitement comes next when the girls where down to 30, and started to claims the jury who will be the contestants for this season. As the girls have a busy week they move into a penthouse in Sydney and also do a photoshoot for swim wear.
During elimination Erika and the panel question Nicole on her eating habits, Until the episode ends with Naomi being eliminated.

The girls with the help if adventurer Tim Jervis they will learn some essential survival skills while trekking to their camp site. Along the way hopefully they learn about team work. Before they could begin the adventure/task they were stripped of all luxuries and left with only the barest of essentials. Allana quit the show in this episode.

This week is all about body movement, the girls were taken to Bondi Icbergs pool where they met Olympic Gold Medallist Elka Graham. She taught the girls about control and movement in the pool. Later they will receive Surfing lesson from Rip Curl Surfers.
They will also have to be live mannequins in the front window of the MYER Centre. Zoe was eliminated.

Gemma, Chloe, Sam and Shannon do a photo shoot where they are nude except for a bit of gold body foil. The girls are also given a challenge where they have AUS$200 and an hour in a mall to come up with an outfit that suits their personal style.
They also receive a lesson in dining matters, where some feel Sam is being fake and overly-polite and proper to impress the teacher.
Chloe wins the challenge where they have AUS$200 and 1 hour in a mall to find an outfit. She picks Shannon to share her prize - a relaxing spa treatment including body mud and a massage. Samantha (Sam) was eliminated this episode because the judges felt she only had "one look" and her expression in photos was always the same.

Shannon, Gemma and Chloe do a beauty shoot for a cosmetics company, and one girl is eliminated after her photo isn't as strong as the others. The two remaining girls then compete in two runway shows, and Australia's Next Top Model is crowned. The two runway shows the girls compete in are Nicola Feneti and Zambizi. Chloe, Shannon and Gemma made it to the final three. Shannon was eliminated because of her mediocre final picture.
Gemma and Chloe competed in the final catwalk, it was Gemma who won becoming Australia's (first) Next Top Model.
