Autrigones
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Autrigones were a tribe described by Roman historians as living in Northern Hispania between the Cantabri and the Caristii. Their historical territory now lies split between the provinces of Cantabria, Burgos, Biscay, Alava and La Rioja. They had two harbours not located so far: Flaviobriga and Portus Amanus. It is probable that they spoke Basque though some defend that they were Celts. The Autrigones tribe was a part of the early hallstatt expansion that migrated from Bavaria-Bohemia to Spain. [1]
