Talk:Barra
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I am removing the Flag section, as per the discussion on Talk:Outer_Hebrides#Flags?. The website Flags of the World - Hebrides is not authoritative - its main source seems to be Wikipedia.--JBellis 17:22, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- Good to know (I vectorized the flag). I've been using FOTW as a general source for flag designs, but looks like I'll have to reconsider. –Mysid(t) 14:06, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Trivia
I have removed the trivia section from the article. The content within it:
“ | The Irish poet Pat Ingoldsby only distributes his books from three shops internationally, one of which is located here.
Barra is the birthplace of fictional character Private James Frazer. No, it isn't. He's from Mingulay, Barra was also featured in the Channel 5 program "Extraordinary people: The Boy Who Lived Before", where a young boy named Cameron, who lived in Glasgow, had memories of a past life on the island of Barra. |
” |
is not really relevant to the Isle of Barra, instead relevent to the specific articles themself. Thanks/wangi 13:44, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Media and the Arts
Calling something a 'trivia' section is asking for it to be deleted. However, if a section had a title something along the above lines, it may sound much more appropriate even if the content was little different. I have made such an attempt and would cheerfully have the (surely notable) information about Pat Ingoldsby included if anyone can find a decent independent reference.
