The Battle of Horshoe Bend also referred to as the battle of Bloody Lake, was fought at a pond formed by the Pecatonica rive at “Horseshoe Bend”. Three Militia volunteers are killed in the action, and a fourth seriously injured. The battlefield of Bloody Lake is now a campground located within a county park of Lafayette county Wisconsin.
