Spikeout: Battle Street
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Spikeout: Battle Street is a Sega published, Dimps developed Xbox game that was the spiritual successor to Streets of Rage. Spikeout: Battle Street was released on March 24, 2005 in the United States with a limited initial shipment of 3,000 copies. Spikeout was expected to be the next Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Sega Saturn and increase in price to $200 since Panzer Dragoon Saga also saw around 3,000 copies released. Ebay prices skyrocketed within hours of the game's release. One person purchased it for $150, within a week prices came back down to $30 when it was Sega announced that they would send another shipment to satisfy demand. People realized that it wasn't Panzer Dragoon Saga in terms of quality. The online play lagged, the controls were very rigid, the animations were wonky and the voice acting was horrible, but it was a beatem up game so people shouldnt have cared about the dialogue. To date Spikeout is the rarest game on Xbox and a collectors item.[citation needed]
